The Philosophy of Our Logo

Trunçgil literally consists of the combination of many words. If you pay attention, unlike the term "citrus fruit", there is no letter "u" between the initial "T" and "r". The reason for this is "Tr", which is the national abbreviation of the "Republic of Türkiye".

When you close the letter "r", the word "Tunç" is formed, which is the surname of Ümit Tunç, the founder of Trunçgil. The term "gil" reveals the concept of family and ecosystem in Turkish, and the term "kil" in Ottoman, which means soil stained with water. When we look at the totality of the word, "citrus" symbolizes orange, that is, dynamism. It also reminds us of the English word "truncate", which means to prune or cut. Let's explain the meanings of these words on the logo in detail.

TR: Türkiye First, Türkiye Pioneer

We undertake from the beginning that we dedicate all the work we have done and will do to our beautiful homeland, Türkiye.

Bronze: Durability and Strength

The hammer and anvil tools of our shoe repair ancestors were made of bronze. For this reason, we took the surname Tunç in the surname law published in 1934. The uses of bronze mine have led to the production of very durable tools and equipment. Apart from durable tools and equipment, it was also used in jewellery, jewelery and ornamental accessories that required relatively little effort. Bronze was widely used in the production of powerful weapons, valuable items and ornaments.

That's why all the work we do requires labor that is as durable as bronze and as fine as bronze.

Gil: Family, ecosystem / clay semi-product

We would like to state that we define the concept of family, which characterizes the social structure, which is the smallest unit of society, as a holistic structuring and that all the products we make are members of a family.

The meaning of the word "gil" in Ottoman Turkish refers to the semi-finished product of "clay", which is irrigated soil, processed like dough and used to create a product. Therefore, "gil" indicates that we can make changes in the system and easily transform a job into a different job.

Truncate: Prune for efficiency

The "Truncate" statement, also used in Transact SQL language, means to prune or cut. Pruning is also an action in botany that involves cutting off excess or unwanted branches in order to ensure that the plant can be more productive and grow more healthily.

Therefore, for us, "truncate" describes the simple code and that simplicity is the most beautiful development.
